Fished by a small fleet of boats from the port of Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie during the part of the season when they are fattest for even more fondant (end of July to October), these sardines are packed the same day with a traditional know-how of excellence perpetuated since 1887, and recognized by the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label.
Sorted, gutted and arranged harmoniously one by one by hand, then sprinkled with extra virgin olive oil, the meticulous gestures performed by the sardine makers are exactly the same as 130 years ago. This guarantees a visual and gustatory quality without equal!
And at La Perle des Dieux, they love to combine beauty and goodness, so they offer you these sardines in a beautifully decorated box.
Tasting advice
When you taste them, you'll discover sardines that are as nutritious as they are pleasant to eat! Like vintage sardines, they improve with time (for about 4 years), provided you turn them every six months.
Traditionally prepared to be as tasty and soft as possible, you can enjoy them :
- Whole or crumbled in their oil on a slice of buttered bread
- In a fresh summer salad: wheat grains, sardines, finely sliced radish, diced cucumber and tomatoes.
